15 january 2010, happy new year. we are very excited about the tenth year of this century, there are so many things we hope to make happen this year. one is a new website. as much as i love this one and the simplicity and clean design joe chavez brought to the table in making it, have some great ideas for what will effectively be c&c.com 3.0.
some exciting news from this week, our friend and endorser, jordan richardson who's been playing with the relentless 7, has once again had the opportunity of a lifetime, double drumming with mr ringo starr. i just caught the show online this morning, and what a great job everyone did. jordan and the relentless 7 have spent the week in NYC doing promo for ringo's new album... Y Not. it is a great feeling that both of these drums kits we're hand made in our shop for these two fantastic drummers. here's a screen shot of the performance. ( with video below ) i do want to hand it to the folks at jimmy fallon, time and time again, it's by far the best sounding live music on late night tv, just my 2 cents. xo jake c&c
also in regards to all of you who have been emailing asking about the levon kit photo'd below... i recently looked into when the auction is going to go down,,, still in the works as the MOF might have a few more gigs, which is great news! anyhow, we'll keep you posted when you'll have a chance to own the drum kit below.

c&c drum company is proud to announce that we have built a drum kit for the monsters of folk tour. we've always wanted to do a throw back kit inspired by the great levon helm. when thinking from finishes for the tour kit, we received a few notes of what will johnson (drummer for the MOF tour, songwriter for centro-matic and south san gabriel) was thinking, finish and vibe wise. will stated that he was heavily influenced by both chris mars and levon helm, yet he didn't know what finish was on the drums they used or if their drums even matched. seemed like the perfect time to build the levon inspired kit we had always wanted. from the first talks of putting together a kit for the tour, the idea was to build some great sounding drums, use them for the shows and then auction the kit off for charity. we gladly jumped on board and are honored to be a part of the whole situation. we've been long time fans of will johnson, and couldn't be happier to have him playing this special kit. please try and catch one of the shows, as each night, the band is donating some of the proceeds to local charities. then, after the tour is over, everyone will have the opportunity to own this drum set, and for a good cause!
a little about the kit. the sizes of the drums are 14x22, 8x13, 16x16 the kick drum is an 8 ply maple shell with 10 ply maple re enforcement rings. the rack tom is a 4 ply mahogany/ poplar/ mahogany shell with 8 ply maple re enforcement rings, and one ply hickory counter hoops. the floor tom is an 6 ply maple shell with 8 ply maple re enforcement hoops. all drums cut with c&c rounded vintage style bearing edges.
